I have met a group of young people that have won my heart. They are wonderful and so full of potential. These kids grew up in a state orphanage in Beclean (2 hours from Cluj). Too old to be wanted for adoption within the country, and all options abroad impossible because of the present law forbidding international adoptions, these kids have been trapped under the wings of the government. Each young person suffers hurt from their past regarding their own family situation and also fear for the future... What will happen to them? How will they be able to make it own their own?

Everything I have done with orphans has convinced me of two things. One, Satan fights hard against every effort for them...attempting to steal and destroy their future and hope. Ministry with orphans has taken us through a raging battle. The second, God has a special place in His heart for them and He comes with His favor and grace, making a way where there seems to be no way.

I continue to facilitate projects that bring blessings to orphans and disadvantaged children as I have opportunity. During the last years: building a picnic shelter and refurbishing the playground in Beclean, replacing an antiquated washing machine in Ilisua, and a major project of replacing the heating system at the TB Prevention Center in Ilisua. During the last months: a stuffed animal drive for the kids, finishing the playground in Beclean, finishing the picnic tables for the picnic shelter, a bicycle for Rita, winter coats for several of the young people, watermelon party, etc. I also continue to encourage them to seek the Lord and have ample opportunities to share with them.
