Wow! What a week we had at our summer camp August 30th – September 4th!
Here are a few highlights!
We named the
camp "Radical Life" Camp 2005 because that is what we wanted God to do in each
life. We sought radical decisions for Christ that would be lived out for the
rest of their lives. We found that the concept of being radical for God was
something that really appealed to these young people.
Romania suffered
all summer from too much rain. Over half of the country is affected with
flooding. In our area, l I doubt it went three days in a row all summer without
raining. The two weeks before the camp it rained almost daily. We prayed for
God to intervene. There was flooding and landslides in the area of the camp
just three days before our arrival. We prayed still harder. The day before the
camp started, the rain stopped. We had 6 days of no rain!!!!!! Not just that,
but absolutely beautiful sunshiny days!
Now about the
camp itself, we had 83 total at the camp. 23 of us staff and 60
participants...probably 50 of whom were non-Christians. The camp was pretty
evenly split half and half guys and girls.
We had 8 people
on staff whose only job was to pray. They prayed between 4-7 hours per day for
the campers and for God to move among us. Even the first day, they experienced a
strong breakthrough and the heavens opened. We really consider that all that
happened among us was indebted to their work before the throne.
Best we can tell
about 40+ young people dedicated their lives to Jesus...so far... One young man, Mircea brought 13 of his friends with him. He was radically saved along with
"his whole household". Every single one of his friends was saved too. One girl
was a Satanist and was radically freed from demons in her life.
We saw healings
of various types. One man had a knee problem that was healed at camp. He had
been scheduled for an operation shortly after the camp. Now he can cancel the
surgery! One young man's back problem was healed. After years of suffering he
was radically healed. He couldn't sleep after that and laid awake all night
considering the miracle God had done in his life. Another girl was healed of a
bad stomach ache. When she realized she was healed, she began to jump up and
down and scream with joy. Another man's eyesight was corrected. He no longer
needed his glasses. The last night of camp, he laid his glasses on the stage and
took a chair and crashed it over the top of his glasses. This was a powerful
symbolic act that communicated loudly, "I won't be needing these anymore!" Two
tooth ache problems were healed with the pain disappearing on the spot! Young
people were set free from addictions to smoking. Even one CD walkman was healed
when two staff members prayed for it! ;-)
It was so
wonderful to be a part of. So many people touched for the kingdom. God showing
up in such a wonderful and tangible way. It was awesome! HE WAS AWESOME!
